Choose your weapon!

Event number 4 in the Ceta Form Time Trial League was the Pennypot 12-mile TT loop, heading west up Pennypot Lane and returning via Broad Dubb Lane, Norwood Lane and Pot Bank.

With 3 hills on the route, riders have to choose whether to ride TT bikes or road bikes.

The weather was cool with a moderate wind from the north east.

18 riders signed on from Harrogate Nova and Moonglu. With 11 on road bikes and 7 on TT bikes, which would be the better weapon on the night?

Duncan Mullier (Nova) took the win on a TT bike in a time of 27:21 with Tom Rowlay (Nova) 2nd in 27:56 on a road bike and Andrew Wild (Nova) 3rd in on a road bike in 28:41. It seems like road bikes are almost as fast as TT bikes on this course.

Congratulations to Duncan Mulier for winning the Triangle Trophy and to Tom Rowlay for breaking the mens vet’s record.

A special thanks goes to the all-important support team:  Margaret and Vaughan Caswell, Mike Hudson, Tony Kent, Iain & Joanne Wallace and Mike Cross.

There is no event next week. The next event is a 15m TT on 4th June.
