Junior Racing & Club Rides

DSC_1789Being a member of Harrogate Nova allows you to race as a member of the club in a range of disciplines depending on your age.  There is lots of information on the British Cycling website and coaches are also able to direct you to local events.  Here are a few useful links:

Club Runs

We are currently trialling club runs for young people. There will be two Youth Rides which are open to young Nova members up to the age of 16 as follows:

Group 1

  • Distance: 30 – 40 miles
  • Pace:  Average 14 – 15 mph

Group 2 (for the younger / less confident riders)

  • Distance: 20 – 25 miles
  • Pace: Average 12 – 13 mph

Adults / Parents: Children under the age of 14 should be accompanied by a parent / adult who will take responsibility for the child(ren) should they encounter any difficulties.  It is suggested that a maximum ratio of one adult to two under 14s is observed. Those at least age 14 can attend youth club runs without a parent. For all other club runs i.e. those that are not youth specific, any competent rider over the age of 14 may attend with a parent/responsible adult.
