Road bikes rule!

Event number 12 in the Beech House Dental Practice Time Trial League was the well-known V212 10-mile course on the A168 from Arkendale lane end down to Walshford roundabout and back.

After a summer of racing, how would everyone perform?

The evening was warm with a light wind. 12 riders signed on from Harrogate Nova and Moonglu.

it was very close in the men’s competition. Only 7 seconds separating the top 3 male riders. Rob Senior (Nova) was 1st in 23:05, on a road bike closely followed by Andrew Wild (Nova) in 23:08 also on a road bike with Roger Bromiley (Nova) in 3rd in 23:12 on a TT bike. Joanne Wallace (Moonglu) was 1st lady in 28:41 on a road bike.

It just goes to show that you can be competitive on a road bike. Time trials are no longer the preserve of the dedicated time trial bike. Perhaps you’ve never tried time trialing. Why not consider joining up for the 2027 season?
