Juniors jet ahead!

Event number 1 in the Ceta Form Time Trial League was the well-known V212 10-mile course on the A168 from Arkendale lane end down to Walshford roundabout and back. After a winter of training how would everyone perform?

The evening boasted almost perfect weather – warm with a light south-easterly wind.

30 riders signed on from Harrogate Nova, Moonglu and Harrogate Tri Club. There were a few more riders on TT bikes than road bikes.

It was the certainly the night for 2 young riders from Nova/Prologue race team. James Beagley smashed the course record in a supersonic time of 20:03 whilst Mark Ketteringham was close behind in a stunning 21:12. Tom Ward of Moonglu came in 3rd in a fantastic 21:25.

Nova rider, Andrew Wild crushed the men's vet’s road bike record in 22:40. Tom Rowlay (Nova) was 2nd in 23:09 with Rob Senior (Nova) 3rd in 23:37.

Joanne Wallace (Moonglu) was 1st lady in 28:24 on a road bike, just 1 second ahead of Caroline Wallace (Moonglu) on a TT bike in 28:25.

Mark Ketteringham was the most improved rider, reducing his time by almost 7 minutes!!! Tom Bromiley was next with an improvement of 109 seconds. Once again, it was the youngsters who were shining on the night.
