Harry Hudson – World Champion

On Friday 26th September, Harry Hudson of Harrogate Nova Race Team produced a stunning performance by winning the UCI World Junior Road Race 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda. The 18 year old from Harrogate has already had a successful racing season, winning the Junior Liege-Bastogne-Liege in May, the CAMS Yorkshire Classic in June, stage 2 of the Classic Region Sud in France and stage 1 of the Vuelta a Cantabria but coming 1st in the Worlds is on another level. After the race, Harry was interviewed and asked what his strategy was in the race. He said he decided to go on an uphill section with 3 laps to go and the other riders did not respond. He managed to gap them and then maintain a margin of 16 seconds at the finish line. Mark Cavendish was at the finish line to congratulate him. Harry has signed a contract to race for professional cycling team, Lidl-Trek Future in 2026. Well done, Harry! What a year.
