Blustery Conditions!

Event number 1 in the Ceta Form Time Trial League 2026 was the well-known V212 10-mile course on the A168 from Arkendale lane end down to Walshford roundabout and back. After a winter of training how would everyone perform?

It was a dry and clear evening, the wind was blustery making for slower times for many, but not all riders!

24 riders signed on from Harrogate Nova and Moonglu. It was great to see 2 guest riders from YRC and CCC. 14 riders were on TT bikes and 10 on road bikes.

Given the conditions, Denholme Edwards (Nova) produced a spectacular time of 20:34 on a TT bike to take 1st position, followed by Team Bottrill coach, Simon Beldon (Nova) in 21:43 on a TT bike in 2nd with Roger Bromiley (Nova) in 3rd place in 23:15.

Samuel Mullier (Nova) was fastest road bike rider in 23:45. He clearly has the same genes as dad, Duncan! In 2nd place was returning former league winner Pete Watson (Nova) in 24:25 with Mark Williams (Moonglu) 3rd in 24:48.

Joanne Wallace (Moonglu) was 1st lady in 29:29 on a road bike.

Ian Swinscoe (Moonglu) was most improved rider.

Thanks to Margaret & Vaughan Caswell, Mike Hudson, Tony Kent, Roger Bromiley and Duncan Mullier for ensuring the event took place on the night.

Next week’s event was scheduled to be the Farnham 9-miler but due to road works, there will be a chance to set a faster time on the V212.
