Sat 13th Feb - structured group ride

Post by AlisonSarmiento » Fri Feb 12, 2016 5:34 pm

Apologies for the late post for this ride. I was waiting to see whether the weather gods would be kind to us this week or not. The forecast earlier in the week was showing sleet and heavy rain but things now seem to have shifted and we have cloud with a chance of some light rain later in the morning so...

...third time lucky, I propose we use the same route I was planning previously when I had to cancel Boroughbridge, Melmerby, Ripon with optional cafe stop in Ripon (possibly Olivers cafe - spa gardens cafe opens again this weekend but I'm not sure if it will be open on Saturday), pretty much dead on 60km...

Same meeting place and time as usual:
9:15am at Knaresborough Texaco garage (which allows for a prompt 9am meet at Prologue)

We will aim to ride at around 24-26kph (15-16mph) in a 'slow chain' that we've used in the social group.

Please post if you are planning to ride so that I know to wait for you if you're late.
Hope to see you out there.
Alison

You're welcome. Thanks to everyone for turning out this morning, it was great to have a group of five despite possibly the worst conditions to date. The Saturday morning weather curse lives on... We will ride in the sun one day! 8-)
