Reliability sun 26th

Post by BigMike » Thu Jan 23, 2014 8:48 pm

Hi all.

Lots of threads in the previous post so wanted to clarify in one post. 9am nova set off for the reliability at squires. Please post if you are planning to ride so we know to wait as it is tempting to set off earlier. 9am leave squires.

So far I think we have
Mantis, mono, myself and big al.

Come on dunc you know you want to!

I'm planning to ride, but will give it a miss if it's wet & windy first thing in the morning.

Think Noah's busy getting the ark ready for tomorrow. Go steady all.

Wet, cold and windy it certainly was. My rear shifter broke with more than 10 miles to go, I didn't want to stop as my hands were no use except for hanging on to the bars so I had to finish the ride fixie style: that wasn't much fun. The stretch of road from the Lotherton Hall junction up to Sherburn village had flooding across the whole road in 3 places, but with soaked feet by then it didn't make much difference. The car park was not full at all compared to how it has been in previous years, no doubt the weather forecast did the trick. Better weather next week maybe??
