Druids Temple Cyclo Cross – juniors race report

Several Nova juniors made the journey to the beautiful surroundings of Swinton Estate for the inaugural Druids Temple cyclocross race on Sunday 27th October.

Aside from the event offering a challenging route for all ages an abilities covering gravel, grass, tarmac, heather and dirt track, it set out to help raise money for a much needed new classroom at the local Grewelthorpe C E School.

The blue skies and sunshine on the day were very much appreciated following all the recent rain which added to the challenge of the course. which involved a ‘spiral of doom’ and long uphill drag.

The uphill suited Nova rider Mark Ketteringham who led from start to finish in the U12s race to take top spot on the podium a minute faster than 2nd place.

Angus Millar had a very strong and solid performance to take 5th place in the U10s

Angus’s younger brother Alfie had a brilliant ride to finish in 10th place

Jacob Marks and Tim Muir both rode in the U8s race. Their amazing skills, strength and determination paid off with Tim taking 8th and Jacob 6th

Another cracking effort from all of the Nova juniors – well done everyone!
