Mark Ketteringham wins White Rose Youth League!

It’s been a busy summer of racing for Harrogate Nova junior Mark Ketteringham.

Firstly taking part in the West Riding Grass Track League, held at Roundhay Park in Leeds.

Running weekly from May till August. Each week riders take part in omninum type events to achieve points. These usually consist of 1 lap sprints, 3 lap scratch race, 1 lap handicap race and finally a 4 lap devil race.

Mark managed to win enough races and gain the most points over the course of the series to be crowned the U10s West Riding Track League, Grass Tracks Champion 2018.

As well grass track, Mark raced at the White Rose Youth League for the first time this year. Events are held on closed circuit tracks at Leeds Brownlee Centre and York Sport. Again racing in the U10s category riders would have to race over a distance of 5 to 6 miles. Running over 8 weeks riders would be awarded points for their finishing positions in each race. Mark managed to win 6 out of 8 of his races. This meant that he was given the most points and the title of the U10s White Rose Youth League Champion 2018.

A big thank you to all the coaches for their hard work and to the Nova juniors who have made it an exciting summer of racing.
