Hi All,
Harrogate Nova are once again promoting a men's and women's road race on the Penny Pot circuit.
This year it will be on the 18th June 2017.

If anyone would like to get involved in helping me out in the early stages of organising the event, please let me know.
At this time I could do with a chief steward who would be responsible for corralling helpers and marshals for the day.

Also, we've got a bit of an issue in that Norwood VH is booked for the 18th. So is Darley.
If anyone knows of or can think of any other venues please let me know. Does anyone work at/knows anyone who works at Cardale who's business might be willing to let us use their car park for the Sunday?

Regards
Dave

Hi All,

Now that its April, the clocks have changed and the weather is warming up its time to start thinking about the Road Race in a bit more earnest.
This years race is on the 18th June 2017 on the Penny Pot circuit and like last year we have a men's and a women's race. This year, the HQ has had to move down the road a bit to Fewston Parocial Hall.

At this stage now I could do with starting to build up a list of helpers and volunteers please.
As a priority we need the following:
8 x drivers for the race convoys, drivers need to be BC members
3 x judges
1 x chief steward for the HQ

We will also need a number of volunteer marshalls to help out around the course.
An as always, cakes would be appreciated for the HQ.

If you can help out, especially with the first two roles then please let me know. dave@daveandsally.co.uk, 07969731887

Thanks
Dave Morris

Thanks to those few that have volunteered to help so far. Much appreciated.
I am getting a little worried however and i could do with a few more people coming forward earlier rather than later so that it lowers my stress levels. Nova can't run this race without your help and i'd hate to have to cancel it because we couldn't get a field of marshal's together.
If you are able to help, please could you let me know.

Thanks
Dave

Thanks again to those that have come forward and those that have confirmed availability.
Still need more helpers, especially marshalls around the course.
If we can get enough then maybe we have some form of rotation scheme so you can ride around the course swapping marshall points so its doesn't get too boring.
Thanks
Dave

Thanks to all who have volunteered their time so far.

I'll be communicating more information in due course but for meanwhile here is a little bit more about the races.

Timings will be from about 9:00 until about 13:00-14:00 but depends on the role.
The men's race starts at 10:00 and the women's 10:05. Women's race due to finish at 12:00 after 3 laps and the men's race due to finish at 12:45 after 5 laps.

The HQ this year is a bit further down the road at Fewston Parochial Hall (due to a clash with Norwood).

Roles range from driving support cars in the convoy of riders either as lead vehicles or accompanied by commissaires. Ideally the lead cars (2 per race) should have driver and passenger as it it helps with having multiple eyes and for company.
We will need help in and around the HQ for signing on riders and with refreshments after the race.
Lastly we will need marshal's out on the course to assist with the traffic management people and to warn riders of traffic islands.

Thanks again, Dave.
