I'd do it just to see Duncan do a 'fun' event.

Have I fostered some kind of reputation?

Yes there is support by me at least. Day after Scarhouse get's my vote. Any later and we're in danger of cyclo-cross clash.
Course: Any of those would do nicely, but if we finished where we started then Farnham gets my vote (and of course it's near my house, but that's irrelevant). 2nd choice V212. However, a course with a nearby pub may be even better?
Thanks for taking this on Duncan.

This sounds good. I'd be keen.
No deep sections, pointy lids, clip ons or skin suits.
Extra kudos for chrome, clips & straps, down tube shifters, woollen jerseys etc!!
A sporting course would be my preference.

Good idea to finish near a pub Ted! I think this would get a lot of support especially if there were a few beers & the option of some lunch too. :D

For those interested put your course preference down. I vote for Pennypot as it has a bit of everything, including a pub.

Hi Just seen this thread and would be keen to help out.
For what it's worth V212 has my vote, and it would allow us to compare old school and new fangled times!
Day after Scarhouse would suit.
Duncan - do you need any help specifically? I'd be happy to help administratively if required.
Sounds like it could be fun!

Thanks Tim, I'll let you know when I know.

I've put a poll for choosing the course under Announcement here.

There is a 10 on the V718 on 25th August. Not many more chances on there this year.

An "old School" (what a dreadful term) time trial at the end of season is a really good idea.
It would be good to do it over the Blue Riband distance of 25 miles, if only to see if we can still get under the hour on the bikes we used to use.
So, no aero bars, aero hats. or deep section wheels.
I would not insist on Reynolds 531 tubing Some of you youngsters won't even know what it is; but there is scope for a variety of awards:
Fastest on a steel frame
Fastest with toe clips and straps
Time in seconds minus age of rider
Fastest on fixed
A two-up or three-up award would be fun
The final open event of the season is usually the YCF 25 in the first week in October ( apart from the loonies who ride hillclimbs0, so what about the week after??
Or what about a christmas 25?
I am already looking out my black tights and alpaca jacket in eager anticipation.
