Saturday 1st Mary Towneley loop

Post by peteshep » Fri May 31, 2013 6:46 am

Hi all, I'm heading off tomorrow to go round the Mary Towneley loop (MTB), aiming to leave the car at Widdop Reservoir at 09:00, lunch in Mankinholes. It's a stunning MTB loop round the South Pennines, about 50mile, with some of everytrack imaginable, just great riding. Any other takers?
Cheers
Pete

Pete

I have done bits of this when Edwyn was doing an RSR at Lee Quarry and it is a crcking ride, like Rich I am off to Shropshire to MTB race tomorrow otherwise I would be up for it. The more the merrier as I think there are about 20 gates per mile or that is what it felt like

Hope you enjoy

Great mtbing today, lovely dusty trails and challenging riding, hope the race in Shropshire went well.
It must be the track that heads down towards Waterfoot (Rossendale) that you were riding Tim, as there are plenty of gates there, thankfully the rest of the route isn't like that. My third time round this loop and still I'd do it again, a great ride.
May the sun and dry tracks continue.
