Saturday 11th Training / Medium ride

Post by MCullen » Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:24 pm

It’s all about the Base....

Prologue 0900 start, non drop and steady base pace, 180-200w.

Suggest similar/same route to last week to see if we can build up a regular crew. Its a good route for those who haven’t been out with us as lots of options to loop back early. New faces very welcome.

If I may....Please have consideration for all those behind you when you snot. It’s just bad form when others get sprayed.

Pls post if interested.

Hoping to come with the lad. We might join you as you pass Harrogate Golf Club or meet at Texaco in Knaresborough.

Michael

Really enjoyed the ride last week so James and me are going to be out again for some more base miles.
Weather looks dry but gusty winds from the south west.
For the route is it worth doing it in reverse to mix it up?? Albeit that would mean a headwind on the leg back home which could be a drag?

See you Sat am

Rob

Hoping to be out. If we go reverse it is an easier warm up before the head wind + opportunity to practise negative split etc

Totally fine on route gents and makes sense given the wind. I don’t know the flatlands too well so happy to go with your suggestion. Any chance you could do a route and post it so people can upload?

Just looking at the weather tomorrow and it’s looking wet and wind of over 40mph. That’s in the dangerous category in my mind so any interest in postponing until Sunday when it’s looking fine?

Any views?

Having rode on many a windy day I tend to find that the reality is rarely as bad as a forecast so my view is get out of house, get on the ride and if the conditions are that bad then there is always the option to turn around.

This is winter so on a positive note it looks dry and fairly mild.

James and I will see you in the morning

Cheers Rob

Still planning on being there and don't mind pushing a bit of wind if necessary.
