......so am i, the money we spend on charity kit will all go to a good cause and we can even return it the the next morning for resale again!! we can buy a tube of toothpaste betwen us all over there, so that just leaves a tooth brush in my back pocket along with debit card and i'm good to go!!

Knowing whitby, i'm sure we won't look out of place in a set of dungarees, cravat and sandles! Best dressed Nova wins a bag of scraps.

As with all rugby tourists, we need a fines master, i volunteer Sam aka Franko for fines on route for payment on arrival at Whitby, with andy being the enforcer!! Unfortunately three of us all played rugby together so we may have a few tricks up our sleeves for anyone half wheeling, not stopping for coffee, or for not riding in the spirit of adventure!

How: YHA is offering a number of membership discounts on its YHA Day, which takes place on Sat 15 Sep 2012 at a number of hostels around the UK.

For free under-26 annual membership, either phone the YHA contact centre on 0800 0191700 between 9am and 5pm on Sat 15 Sep 2012, quoting the code YDU26MEM-912, or visit your nearest participating hostel. For £5 individual or half price joint/family annual membership, visit a participating YHA centre on the day.

What do I get? There are three memberships on offer: free under-26 (usually £8.95 by direct debit), £5 individual (usually £14.35 by direct debit) and £11.48 joint/family (usually £20.95 by direct debit).

Both under-26 and individual memberships get discount hostels worldwide for one person and any kids under 18 travelling with them. A joint/family membership gets discounts on hostels for two adults living at the same address.

The card saves adults £3 per person, per night and £1.50 per child, per night on 4,000+ already cheap hostels.

The detail: For people aged 25 and under. Not available for current members. There are no additional transaction/postage costs.

I have a trousers, grogs, shirt and jumper all in a rucksac at 985g. All bought at that excellent charity boutique Cotswolds. You rugby lot can get on with what you like, I'm keeping my soap to myself thanks. Hope my cold goes away.

Hi all, got a bit of a pass out on Saturday so planning on joining you for some of the ride out. Maybe stop for some lunch and a game of cards!!!

I was thinking the same thing, ride out and ride back after part way. Might even bring the fixed and join those at the back....

oh dear, cold has turned into coughing up phlegm. My current thinking is to turn up at the Texaco in Knaresborough at 10:50 and see how it goes and maybe ride back with the others if I can't manage it. This is not some subterfuge, I've manage to hold health all season (since May) and I have already sent apologies for the rearranged YCF10 on the fast Hull course on Sunday.
