Saturday 11th May Medium-paced ride

Post by David Collins » Wed May 08, 2019 1:51 pm

Anyone fancy a medium group on Saturday? Could be the old 9.15 Knaresborough start or other. I'll sort out a route if so. Probably about 3 hours & could include a cafe stop depending on what people want.

Thanks for posting this David! Good to meet you last week when you were rescuing Andrew. Looks like you got a great ride in. Weather looking a lot more promising for the weekend. A few doing the Fred Whitton this weekend but there should be others looking for a good sociable ride on Saturday

Hi David, I used to go on several of the medium paced rides meeting in Knaresborough and would attend again if these are resurrected. Can't make it for a while though as I am suffering with Sciatica.

Hi Geoff - I think we met last year on a couple of the Saturday Knaresborough runs. Hopefully we can get something regular going again & good luck with recovery.
Hi Wilbers (Mike?) - I live in Knaresborough so could meet you at the old place (Opposite the filling station on Boroughbridge Road) about 9.00am. Anyone else from Harrogate could join you at Prince of Wales. Was thinking of 3 hours with a few hills - Farnham - B Leonard - Markington - Brimham then across Nidderdale etc.
Let me know if that suits and I'll do a gpx track.

I’ll be riding Gents.
I’m riding across from Norwood so meet you at PoW at 0845 Wilbers?

Would be worth discussing starting points and maybe picking people up on the way as you say Wilbers. Regular Knaresborough starts are a bit far for me so I wonder whether combining with the Fast Group in Harrogate would suit more riders. I guess we will know if this becomes more regular.

Mike C - happy to look at a different start point for future rides - Earlier starts work for me. At one time there were quite a few Knaresborians in the Medium group.
Hopefully this link will take you to my route: https://www.strava.com/routes/18810128
See you all in the morning
