Alba Rosa RR

Post by Mantis » Wed Feb 21, 2018 4:22 pm

A bit early I know, but just putting some feelers out for a slight deviation to the RR on Sunday... previously there hasn't been any grub on at the end as its just pub food and the route comes very close to Harrogate towards the end, so was wondering about cutting the route short and heading to Prologue for coffee and cake instead. Maybe turn off at the end of the Haggs Road and head through Pannal etc. Would still be a decent ride, out to the start and round most of the route.

Suggest meeting top of Almsford Ave 8.40am to ride to the start. Happy to go with the flow if majority still want to do the full route..

I promised myself that I'd get back to the grindstone and so not do anymore reliabilities. I wouldn't be tempted to do the original route but would have to try harder to resist the finish at Harrogate option, if that makes sense.

It's been great riding with you this last few weeks Duncan! There will be plenty of opportunities to grind up & down the A168 by yourself this year :D

I'm up for the reliability & the finish back in Harrogate would suit me. I get plenty of time riding in & out on North Leeds in any case.

I like your plan Mantis. I’ll be there. Hopefully I’ll hang on longer this time.

Just seen a tweet from ARCC saying that are (rather sensibly) planning to send faster riders off first with a start to of 9am 9.30am.
Perhaps we should be meeting at 8.20am?

Your suggestions sound eminently sensible and I’m in full agreement. Will be doing my utmost to peel off in K Overblow
