Saturday morning rides - anyone interested?

Would anybody be interested in a steady structured riding group on a Saturday morning? I'm planning to do regular rides on Saturday mornings and I wondered if anyone fancied joining me.

The idea would be to ride at around 25-26kph on largely flat / undulating terrain for 2-2.5 hours (Cafe stop depending on the weather / demand from the group). If we can get a group together I would suggest riding in a 'slow chain' that we've used in the social group...I can bring my whistle!

Depending on your level of fitness / current cycling aims you could view this as:
a) Ideal base training
b) A nice leg opener for your Sunday CX race
c) The first 2-2.5 hours of your crazy long Ironman training ride

If you're interested please can you post on this thread and we'll take it from there. I would propose starting from Saturday 21st (Saturday after next).

Great, it looks like we've got a group (Ted is planning to come along too) and thanks for the offer to lead some rides Dave.

I forgot to say what time and where to meet. As we'll generally be heading East, and I live in Knaresborough, I'd like to suggest we meet at the Texaco garage in Knaresborough (Boroughbridge Road) at 9.15, which gives any Harrogate folk who want to come along the chance to meet up at 9 in Harrogate.

OK, so we're all set for 9.15 Sat 21st Nov at Texaco garage, I'll post up a route nearer the time...any other takers?

Sounds good to me. I'm generally riding on Saturdays at the moment, and should fit in nicely with my plan. Might peel off after a cafe if I am needing to go a bit longer. (i.e. might get braver about straying further from home once new overshoes and lights arrive...!)
