Sociable Ride either Sat 10th or Sun 11th of Dec

Anyone participating in a club ride, whether a club member or not, must abide by the Highway Code, ride responsibility, sensibly and respect other road users at all times. Please remember your behaviour on the bike reflects on the club, even if other road users don't share the same courtesy to you.

Sociable Ride either Sat 10th or Sun 11th of Dec

Post by Lattern_Rouge » Sun Dec 04, 2011 9:03 pm

Dear all,

I am home next weekend the 10th & 11th of Dec and it would be nice to potter out for a sociable ride. (either day.)

meet about 8.30 at the Prince of Wales roundabout and set off for about a 45 mile tour with a café stop on the way get back for about 12.30pm or 1.00pm.

Have a route in mind, but open to suggestions.
Harrogate,
Otley Rd
Burn Bridge
Brackenthwaite Ln
Rigton Hill
Stainburn
Leathley
Farnley
Otley
Menston
Bingley Rd (heading over the moor past Dick Hudson's Pub)
Ilkley
Denton
Askwith
Low Snowdon
Timble
Penny Pot Ln
Harrogate.

A Gentlemanly ride with a bit of banter, great countryside and hopefully some descent weather. (Ladies most welcome too.)

Let me know if any of you are interested.

Apologies to the chaps who live out Pately Bridge way, but happy to change the route to suit, the above is just a suggestion.

best regards

Tony.

Dear Alison,

Well according to the Oxford English Dictonary:

Of a person, or occas. an animal: inclined or disposed to seek and enjoy the company of others; friendly or affable in company; disposed to conversation and social activities.

I had the last part of that description in mind.

Regards

Tony.

Hi Tony,

will be good to see you mate! Id be keen to join you but will have to be very steady. believe it or not i have had a serious chest infection for nearly 3 weeks and haven't ridden at all. looking to venture out this weekeend but will be way off pace. will be good to have a nice steady one and catch up....... might even be able to actually chat while on the bike! :-)

Mike,

I have a nibble of interest from Alison; and Paul and Simon are game.

Sunday appears to be the preferred day. 8.30am at the Prince of Wales Round about and we will do the route in the opposite direction to that I proposed, this means that either Simon or Paul can peel off to go to work and they do not have to "race" to get back.

Hope your getting better and look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Cheers

Tony.
