Nova TT League Round 16 – Norwood Edge Hill Climb

Event 16 of the Beech House Dental Practice TT League on Wednesday 15th August was the first of 3 hill climbs which conclude the 2018 league competition. On an autumnal evening 10 hardy competitors took on the revered 1 mile long Norwood Edge hill climb in drizzly and greasy conditions.

The more aerodynamic Time Trial equipment was replaced by lighter road bikes better suited to climbing and newly crowned champions Pete Watson (overall TT league) and Huw Spacey (road bike category) both put in solid performances clocking 5mins 45secs and 6mins 7secs respectively.

Ride of the evening and the Hill Climb title deservedly went to Jacob Vezey with a mightily impressive time of 5mins 30secs which just edged out Glen Turnbull at 5mins 39secs.

Ele Haresign won the women’s event with 7mins 56secs and twelve year old Joe Turnbull posted a sensational time of 7mins 14secs.

The next and penultimate event is another 1 mile hill climb at Darley Head where the climbers will be battle it out again for further HC honours.
