National 100 Mile TT Championships were held on the Teesside at the weekend with two laps of Crathorne to Dishforth in windy conditions. Harrogate Nova had four entrants with Tony Kent puncturing at just over half way. There was better news for the other three with Alison Sarmiento completing her first 100 in 4:44:51. Corinne Mitchell took the vacant club Lady Veteran Record for 100 miles with 4:29:00 and Ele Haresign broke the sixteen year old ladies’ record by 29 minutes with 4:13:28, to add to her recent 50 mile club record! York Cycleworks’ Jess Bacon was just ahead of Corinne with 4:25:27. Event 10 of the Beech House Dental Practice TT league, a 13 mile loop of Milby to Asenby to Dishforth to Milby, saw Prologue’s Junior, Dylan Flesher, take his second win of the season in a junior record time of 29:28, ten seconds ahead of out of form series leader Duncan Mullier. York Cycleworks Jess Bacon returned to win the ladies event in 32:17, a new record, 1:22 ahead of Corinne Mitchell in a new lady Vet’s record.
