Cumbrian Cracker Sportive

Michael Cullen and Rob Beagley, along with six hundred others, took on the Cumbrian Cracker Sportive on Sunday.

The 60-mile route through South Lakeland headed along the shores of Coniston to the feed stop at Cartmel Scout Hut.  The Northern leg then weaved it’s way through fantastic cycling lanes, returning via Grizedale forest, Hawkshead and Ambleside.

Rob finished the route in 3 hours and 15 minutes; Michael in 4 hours and 7 minutes.

Airedale Olympic Reliability Ride

The third event in the Magnificent Seven Reliability Rides took place on Sunday.  Starting near Leathley Bridge, the route took in Farnley, Norwood, Summerbridge, Hartwith Bank (a cruel enforced last minute change due to road works), Burt Yates, Kirkby Malzead, Ripon and Bishop Monkton, to finish at Knaresborough.  A large Nova contingent were among the 119 starters.

Event four, the Otley One, takes place on Sunday 21 February. leaving the Market Place in Otley at 9:30am.  In memory of Craig Armitage, there will be collection buckets at registration and afterwards at the club cafe.  All money collected will be donated to the road safety charity Brake.

Time for tea

Harry Brook-Dobson and Edwyn Oliver-Evans cycled from Bath to Cheddar to find a lovely tea room (complete with wood burning stove), serving afternoon tea with ginger scones with lemon curd.

Delightful.
