Mark Ketteringham on the podium at York

Round 7 of the Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross Association winter series took place at York Sport Cycle Circuit on Sunday.  Windy conditions meant the course dried out as the day went on, with the youngsters having the best of the conditions before the mud got stickier for the veterans.

In the first race of the day, the Under-8s, three Nova members were in action, and all scored impressive results.  Mark Ketteringham took his second podium of the season with a hard-won third place.  Cormac Denwood finished in 6th and Magnus Denwood in 8th.

In the Youth race, both Louis Mason and Charlie Lehan suffered from untimely punctures, which put their running skills to the test.  Louis finished as 20th placed Under-16 and Charlie as 14th placed Under-14.

In the Senior event, Edwyn Oliver-Evans also had more than cycling to contend with, getting wrapped up in course tape, and missing out on a podium place by just 36 seconds to claim fourth Under-23.

Richard Hamilton, in a return to racing following shoulder surgery earlier in the year, was back in action, riding strongly to finish as 11th Vet-40.  Ted Sarmiento & Paul Lehan rode wheel to wheel, for most of the race with Ted claiming bragging rights on the line and 5th placed Vet-45 spot, just ahead of Paul in 12th placed Vet-40.

Richard Salden, in his strongest ‘cross race this season, finished as 10th placed Vet-45.  Kirstie Hamilton claimed 3rd placed Senior lady.
